Volunteer Mentors
1 Thorpe Close, Ladbroke Grove

Join our Mentoring Programme. At the Volunteer Centre Kensington & Chelsea we are looking to recruit mentors to assist mentees who may have a learning disability or a mental health issue.
This is a great opportunity to share your experience and knowledge of life and/or work with mentees ready to undertake skills, education training and volunteering.
In particular you will provide 1-1 support to help mentees with their vocational skills, including job / volunteering searches and applications. You will escort them at the initial stages of learning and volunteering, and you will provide them with practical and emotional support, helping to improve their self-confidence and self-esteem.
This role requires an enhanced DBS check.

About Volunteer Centre Kensington and Chelsea - Stepping Stones

The Volunteer Centre Kensington & Chelsea is an independent charity in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. We are the central hub for volunteering in the local community as well as a champion in promoting volunteering opportunities. We believe in everyone's ability to be an effective volunteer and that every volunteer's contribution of time, skills and knowledge is of great value to the local community.

We encourage a can-do approach to volunteering. The Stepping Stones project is central to this work as it encourages people with a disability or mental health need into volunteering, where the aim is to empower and support people in overcoming practical and psychological barriers to volunteering. For this mission Stepping Stones Buddying is a vital tool and will open up volunteering for an untapped pool of volunteers, making them active participants and contributors in Kensington and Chelsea.
