Mary George is a 6 storey building located in Kensington and Chelsea housing 40 women most of whom live alone. As a social landlord, we are committed to minimise the negative impact these improvement works will have on our most vulnerable residents. Some of our older tenants have lived for substantial part of their life here and therefore have built their lives in the area and are familiar with local services and commodities. Mary George House Super Helper Volunteers will help us not only to combat isolation and loneliness by having friendly conversations with our residents, but will also assist them with day to day essentials such as collecting prescriptions, bringing shopping bags upstairs, taking rubbish out, etc.
About Housing for Women - Kensington and Chelsea
Housing for Women is a housing association and charity that is dedicated to improving lives by providing social housing and gender sensitive support services to women in London. We want to ensure that women and their families who are facing challenging circumstances have the best chances in life, whether they have simply been priced out of the London housing market, elderly women or have experienced domestic violence, been a victim of trafficking or are ex-offenders.
